The McFarland Group Plans a Leaders Retreat on Nebraska's Snake River
Founder Byron McFarland's property south of Valentine will host client working sessions and leadership gatherings beginning in summer 2027.
OMAHA, Nebraska, October 6, 2026. The McFarland Group will host client working sessions and leadership gatherings at a Leaders Retreat on the Snake River south of Valentine, Nebraska, expected to open in summer 2027. The property belongs to founder Byron McFarland and sits roughly 350 feet above the water, on a stretch of river he has fished with clients for the past ten years.
The firm advises owners of closely held businesses through ownership transitions, work that depends on long conversations between owners and the leaders who will carry the business forward. The retreat is built for that work. Owners and their leadership teams will be able to step away from the office, spend time outdoors, and work through succession and ownership questions together.
"Some of the best thinking I have seen from owners happened on this river, long before anyone opened a spreadsheet. A decision this size deserves more than a conference room and an hour. This gives leaders a place to slow it down and learn together," said Byron McFarland, Founding Principal of The McFarland Group.
The firm's offices remain at 4601 Catalyst Court in Omaha, and client work continues to run from there.
